Watch: A roof collapsed over the audience
A partial roof collapse at London’s Piccadilly Theater on Wednesday halted the play of Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman”.
The collapse caused minor injuries and led to the audience out of the exhibition hall, according to the agency “Reuters”.
The police were summoned to the West End Theater, where American actor Wendell Pierce acted as the lead protagonist of the play by Miller in 1949.
“Everyone was taken out of the theater and a few suffered minor injuries,” police said in a statement. The fire brigade in London said that 1,100 people were taken out of the theater after part of the ceiling fell.
“I would like to thank all of you for the safe evacuation. We apologize and we are pleased that no one has ever Hurt. ”
