Anger will occur in Qatar soon!
The development of world’s first ANGRY BIRDS WORLD™ in Doha has been given a green light. The ANGRY BIRDS WORLD™ is going to be a one-of-a-kind entertainment park once completed. A special crew has landed in Doha to oversee the project until its completion. Once competed Doha is expected to become known for the gusto and the chirps of the angry birds.
The ANGRY BIRDS WORLD™ concept has been developed by Trimoo in partnership with Talal bin Mohammed Trading (TBMT), and Rovio Entertainment Corporation, the developer and the distributor of the Angry Birds game. The game is immensely popular among children as well as grown ups and has been downloaded 4 billion times since 2009.
The ANGRY BIRDS WORLD™ will be spread over a staggering 17, 000 square meters at the Doha Festival City. The entertainment park is expected to draw visitors from across the world and mystify them with its high-thrill rides. Other facilities that will make ANGRY BIRDS WORLD™ unique are F&B outlets, retail shops, edutainment activities designed to engage visitors of all ages.
As per Riad Makdessi, CEO of Trimoo, “At Trimoo, it has always been our objective to deliver more than just entertainment. We believe that with creativity, innovation, game and design thinking we can revolutionise the way people experience the world.”
“ANGRY BIRDS WORLD™ is the perfect opportunity for us to let our creative teams go wild at expressing themselves. It is a unique chance for us to be the storytellers that we have wanted to be. With this project we hope to set new benchmarks for entertainment in Qatar and spread happiness among visitors and leave them with lasting memories”, he added.
“It is the beginning of a new era for Rovio, we are very excited that finally we will be able to offer the Angry Birds experience in physical and tangible forms to millions of our fans. The announcement of the project comes at a good time too as the Angry Birds 2 movie is soon set to come out”, the Senior Vice President, Brand Licensing at Rovio, Simo Hämäläinen said.
The work on the park is moving along at a brisk pace as the launch is expected to be in the upcoming months. The project is expected to give a boost to Qatar’s tourism sector as it is being developed in line with the Qatar National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030 (QNTSS).
Once opened the ANGRY BIRDS WORLD™ would be one of the four major entertainment parks that are introduced by Trimoo and set to open at Doha Festival City, located along Al Shamal Road. Upon completion, the unique entertainment destination will be home to – SNOW DUNES™ – the country’s first indoor snow park set in an ancient Arabian village; VIRTUOCiTY™ – the region’s first digital and eSports gaming park; and JUNIVERSE™ – the world’s first city in space that aims to inspire and entertain children.
