Attention: 500 bombs are inside the houses
The US company “Whirlpool” decided to recall nearly half a million pieces of its automatic washing machine dryer, after admitting the existence of something like a time bomb.
According to media reports, the company found a problem in the washing machine dryers allowing the fluff on the clothes to reach the parts responsible for heating, leading to the explosion of the device and the outbreak of fire.
Hundreds of thousands of washing machine dryers pose a real threat to homes and threaten to explode at any time, Sky News said.
In this regard, Whirlpool has issued an urgent appeal to the owners of the bodies involved in the summons to bring them for replacement or repair, in order to prevent their risks.
Whirlpool said the appeal targeted 500,000 clothes dryers in July, but the company has only received 65,000 machines so far.
“The owners of broken devices should bring them urgently and not ignore this appeal.”
The recall, requested by the US Product Safety Office, relates to specific models of Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda and Swan dryers manufactured between 2004 and 2015.
“We are grateful to everyone who has come to us so far,” said Whirlpool vice president Jeff Noel. “For the remaining people, please contact us immediately.”
“We can assure consumers that we are doing everything we can and that we can fix the flaw.”
During the past period, the company revealed that it has received more than 50 reports of fire accidents caused by drying machines.
