Best nights out in Doha

A1 nights at Best Western Plus:
The biggest hip-hop party in Doha should not really need an introduction. Expect massive tunes from resident DJs, twerking, international guests and a bass-heavy Friday night out. Spectacle and performance are important here, and if you’ve ever wanted to party like you were in a rap video, this is the place to come.
Ladies free before midnight (QR100 after), gents QR100. Fridays. 10pm-2am. Best Western Plus, Old Salata, Al Safilia Street,www.facebook.com/A1nights (7712 3440).

Dinner Show at The Club:

The St. Regis Doha has been the unofficial home of jazz in Qatar for a few years now and live music continues to dictate what happens here. An old school jazz club vibe means music happens in front of appreciative diners as part of a dinner show. Jazz names such as Judi Jackson, Michael Pigneguy and Davis Whitfield are in the line-up and you should look out for visiting dignitaries from America’s great jazz capitals in one-off shows as well.
From QR695 per couple including three-course set meal and house grape. Tue-Sat. 7pm-late. The Club at The St. Regis Doha, West Bay,www.stregisdoha.com (4446 0000).

Doha Hustle at Nozomi:

Let us say right here and on the record that Van McCoy’s The Hustle is one of Time Out’s all-time favourite tunes, so any night that is seemingly inspired by it automatically gets at least one thumb up. A soul, funk and disco soundtrack provided by Doha’s endearingly popular Kinky D is enough to upgrade that to two thumbs up from us. It all happens in the London import of a Japanese lounge that picked up our Best Newcomer award at the 2016 Time Out Doha Restaurant Awards, so expect to see us hustlin’ down there.
Free. Thursdays. 9pm-2am. Nozomi, Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl-Qatar, www.facebook.com/dohahustle (4035 5089).
