A company in Qatar is selling FAKE products
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) announced that it has closed a company specialising in the sale of women’s clothing and accessories in the Muaither region for a month.
The company in question was found to be selling counterfeit products violating the provisions of one of the articles of the Consumer Protection Law.
As per the law, the supplier shall, upon presentation of any item for sale, be bound to indicate on its cover or packaging, clearly the type of the item, its nature, its components, and all data related to it.
Further, the law also forbids the supplier to describe, advertise or display the items in a manner that contains false or deceptive statements.
As a matter of fact, the procedure comes within the framework of the intensive inspection campaigns carried out by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) to monitor the markets and commercial activities in the country.
It aims to detect infringements and counterfeit goods that do not conform to the standard specifications.
