Facebook launches a long-awaited feature 

 

At the request of the Government of Singapore, Facebook launched the first correction notice on a user’s post.

Facebook said it had issued a notice to correct a user’s publication at the request of the Singapore government, but called for a careful approach to implementing a new law against “false news” to protect freedom of expression.

The notice, seen by some users in Singapore, that “Facebook is legally committed to notify you that the government of Singapore says that this post contains incorrect information,” according to “Reuters”.

The correction notification was listed below the original publication without any modifications to the text, but other users inside and outside the country were able to view it.
