Great news for people spending Eid in Qatar
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has opened five major beaches and Corniches after renovation just in time for Eid holidays.
Each of these areas are equipped with new facilities including pergolas (shades), cafeterias, toilets and green areas among many others to serve the visitors, reported The Peninsula.
This is indeed great news for people who are looking to take their families and children to the beach during Eid holidays.
The renovated picnic places are the Corniches of Doha, Al Wakra City, Al Shamal, Al Khor City and the Semaisima Beach.
The Al Wakrah Corniche was developed in a stretch of 2.4km. The facility has a total of 120 pergolas, 60 toilets across the beach and a big parking lot with the capacity of 600 vehicles, reported The Peninsula.
It also boasts of three cafeterias, 25,000SqM of green area and 98 lampposts equipped with solar systems. After renovation, Al Shamal Corniche now has a 2,570M long walkway, parking lot with the capacity for 120 vehicles and a play area stretching over 2,000SqM.
There are two separate buildings with a total of 16 toilets. Al Shamal Corniche also has 26 pergolas, 83 lampposts, 450 palm and other types of trees and benches on which a total of 55 people can take rest at a time.
Corniche of Al Khor City is developed as a picnic spot for families, with the play area completely renovated. The facility has 46 pergolas, a number of benches that can accommodate 256 people at a time.
Many restrooms were rebuilt and additional toilets were constructed to accommodate the growing number of visitors. Trees and greeneries are spread over an area of 6,000SqM in the corniche. A total of 45 new parking lots have been added to the Al Khor City Corniche, enabling it to accommodate 116 vehicles.
Green areas were increased at Semaisima Beach. It now has a park in an area of 4,000SqM with flower plants, Sidr trees and different varieties of palm trees. New Semaisima Beach has thee play areas for children and enough pergolas and toilets for visitors.
Doha Corniche has been developed over a 6km stretch. Toilets and parking lots were renovated in a big way to accommodate growing number of visitors. A total of 24 toilets have been rebuilt. Exercise equipment have been placed at ten places so the visitors can do exercises.
