Minor detour on this street for the next 17 months
Qatar’s Public Works Authority Ashghal has announced that it will be shutting down a section of the Al Gharafa Street for the next 17 months.
The minor diversion, which will be in place until September 30, 2019, will help facilitate completion of works on the underpass on Al Gharafa Street, as part of the Khalifa Avenue project, reported Gulf Times.
During the detour, both directions of the Al Gharafa Street between Thani bin Jasim Street traffic signal and Al Hazm Street signal will be reduced from three lanes to two (see map).
The authorities will soon start installing road signs guiding motorists to the diverted route. Ashghal has requested all road users to abide by the existing 50 kmph speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure safety.
