Ooredoo Qatar is warning customers
Ooredoo is warning customers of apps that try to hack the personal information.
People are asked not to answer any suspicious messages and calls and must report the case to the company.
An Ooredoo Qatar tweet said: “If there’s a profile called ‘Ooredoo’ trying to contact you through an app – STOP! We would never contact you this way to ask for personal information. If you receive a suspicious message/call remember – stop, block, and report the number to @OoredooCare on Twitter. #Ooredoo”
Ooredoo would never contact a customer using third-party apps.
“Scammers are taking advantage of the modern-day dependence upon mobile phones, so a frequent scam is stealing personal information via phone operations with which credit cards can then be created and used or personal bank loans were taken,” the warning then said.
