Qatar Airways will launch new flights starting October
Qatar Airways announced the launch of its flights to Langkawi, Malaysia, next October at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur.
HE Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, said: “Langkawi is one of the most popular destinations in Malaysia. Qatar Airways’ new flights will undoubtedly attract more visitors to this picturesque island, with five flights a week. Qatar Airways is delighted to be able to visit more than 160 destinations across its global hub in Doha, where its new flights reflect its commitment to Malaysia and Asia as a whole.
The launch of Qatar Airways’ flights to Langkawi is part of the airline’s strong expansion plans in Southeast Asia, with Langkawi becoming the third destination in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The airline will operate four flights a week to Langkawi via Penang, a Malaysian state on the northwest coast of the Malaysian peninsula, from mid-October, and will increase the number of flights to five a week from the 27th of the same month.
Langkawi Island attracts tourists with its green hills, white beaches and clean waters.
Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 islands, enveloped in all directions by the Andaman Sea on the west coast of Malaysia, and offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the scenic nature, rainforest and mangrove forests. The island is also included in the list of the top 50 places to visit on the list of “ Travel and Tourism ” of 2019.
