Qatar: expectations of weather during the weekend
There were at least a few hundred happy faces yesterday after the much-awaited rainy season finally began in the country.
People living in the northern parts of Qatar received moderate rain early in the morning, reported The Peninsula, citing the Qatar Meteorology Department.
Some residents in the northern parts had also shared videos and images of rain on social media.
he weather department said that the chances of rain are expected to improve by this weekend and there will also be a “noticeable drop” in temperature in the coming period, especially early next week, reported Gulf Times.
The partly cloudy skies are likely to continue to prevail around the country on Monday and Tuesday and there is a possibility of isolated rain.
Unstable weather is expected to affect the country due to the passage of a low pressure system in the upper levels of the atmosphere starting from Wednesday and will reach its peak during the weekend, when atmospheric conditions become favourable for scattered rain, which could be thundery at times, reported The Peninsula, in another report.
Northwesterly fresh to strong winds are expected to blow from Friday (November 24), causing high waves and a noticeable drop in temperatures. The minimum temperature may drop below 15C in the central and southern parts of Qatar.
A minimum temperature of 19C is likely on Monday in Abu Samra, Wakrah and Mesaieed, and 24C in Doha. The maximum, on the other hand, will be 30C in Doha, Al Khor and Abu Samra.
