Hamad Port, Qatar’s main gateway to trade with the world, has achieved a new achievement in addition to its previous series of achievements by entering the Guinness Book of Records as the deepest artificial basin ever built on the surface of the earth.
It is worth mentioning that the port of Hamad Port is 17 meters deep, 4 kilometers long and 700 meters wide. The construction took about two and a half years of drilling, during which it used about 6900 tons of explosives to challenge the hardness of rocks with full commitment to the preservation of wild and marine life by extracting approximately 44.5 million cubic meters of sand and hard stones that were used in the construction activities of the project, which had a major role In saving costs.
