Things to do this weekend in Qatar (January 4-6, 2018)

Its the first weekend of the new year and the weather is good enough to head outdoors and we have prepeared a list of interesting events happening in and around Doha ranging from Winter-Spring festivals to watching the German Bundesliga giants train at Aspire.

Souq Waqif Spring Festival

The Spring Festival at Souq Waqif promises to be bigger  than ever with more than 60 activities including 30 amusement rides and will run for four months until April 25.

It will feature a wide range of family-friendly outdoor games and rides as well as entertainment including parades and musical shows.

Winter Festival at Aspire

Aspire Winter Festival has opened its door for Qatar residents which includes fun games, rides, food – shopping stalls and a Royal circus that can be enjoyed not only by kids but adults as well.

Entrance is free for children under the age of three. Prices start at QR60 and can be bought at the entrance.

When: On throughout the week from 4pm-10pm, with circus show timings on Sunday-Wednesday show at 7 PM; Thursday, Friday and Saturday two shows at 5 pm and 7 pm.

German Champions in Aspire Zone

Football fans can head to Aspire Zone’s outdoor football pitches to watch the German Bundesliga giants who have arrived in Doha for their winter training camp.

Counted among the World’s biggest football clubs FC Bayern Munich are training until January 7 in Aspire.

The open training sessions will be held on Friday, January 5 at 10:30 am; on Saturday, January 6, and Sunday, January 7 at 10am.

Torba Farmers Market

Qatar Foundation (QF) has partnered with Torba Farmers Market, a Qatar-based initiative that aims to deliver organic and locally-grown food and homemade products, to host a weekly market.

A wide-range of fresh, locally-grown items will be on offer, including organic fruits and vegetables, homemade preserves, syrups, and butters, as well as handicrafts and gardening supplies.

It will be open to the public every Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm and Friday from 8:30 am to 10:30 am and resuming at 2 pm upto 5 pm.
