While stadium construction work is taking place around Qatar to host FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar will be increasing the percentage of green areas by growing trees.
A part of the plan is to find green areas for the community in the stadium’s precinct.
Its aim to cover all areas surrounding the 2022 FIFA World Cup stadiums which is approximately 440,000 square meters.
The plan is to plant about 16,000 trees in the few coming years on about 30,000 square meters, while the other areas will be planted with 3,000 transplanted trees.
The Sidra tree will be the most planted tree.
Officials hope to ensure that the communities around the stadiums have a green space for recreational activities and to give a nice touch so that tourists will love it.
