What will happen this Sunday in Qatar?
The Spring Festival, conducted by the organizing committee of the Private Engineering Office, soft launched at the Souq Waqif yesterday, according to Gulf Times.
“The festival will have. many surprises in store. Today is the soft launch and Sunday will be the official launch,” Adel Al Kurdi, Media Coordinator of Souq Waqif Events was quoted as saying by The Peninsula.
The festival, which is open from 3pm to 11pm daily, will host a variety of activities for children and adults as well as for tourists, according to Qatar Tribune.
The festival is set to run for four months, until April 25, 2018. This period was selected considering the good weather.
Souq Waqif director Mohamed Al Salem said this edition of the festival would feature more than 60 activities, including 30 amusement rides.
“This year’s edition is known for a number of renewable events, including spectacular performances by ‘Pedestrians,’ a group of artistes and clowns from different countries, as well as acrobatic performances,” Al Salem said.
Al Ahmed arena will be a theme park that will offer a variety of electronic games for all age groups, while the western arena will feature a range of restaurants and games for children under the age of 10.
The festival will provide surprises to the public from time to time, which will be revealed in time due to the long period of festival. The Souq Waqif Arts Center will also participate in the festival by offering workshops for adults and children.
